THIS PAGE IS DEDICATED TO A WONDERFUL FRIEND

SIMON JONES

I met Simon on 22 April 2006.  As friends, we started to see each other regularly and I would go to his place initially.  About a week into knowing one another, I brought him home and introduced him to Jezz.  They got on well then and are very close now.  Everyone else who has met Simon has all commented on how pleasant he is straight away and that he has a gentle and lovely nature. With Simon's calming and soothing personality, it is refreshing to have him in my life and hopefully forever more.

During the first year of us knowing one another, we went out for meals at various places including Beefeater, Tattenham Corner, Epsom Downs, The Apple Tree in Gerrards Cross and The Woodman in Woodmansterne. We went to Brighton for the day with Jezz, Nick and Tim. Simon also took me to his favourite UK beach, Pevensey Bay. He showed me Burling Gap and Ditchling Beacon. He was with me to celebrate Jezz's birthday at The Beijing Garden, Cheam Village. We also went with me to The White Horse in Shere and with Nick Ward. He was with me, Miranda and Tim, Scott, David Wallis and Jezz to see the New Year in at The Reflex nightclub in Kingston.

In 2007, we were on a mission to get his Peugeot alloy wheels replaced. But three months later we were to go in search of a new car for him and eventually we found a Vauxhall Tigra that he traded his Peugeot in for. The car dealer was in Ashford, Middlesex. Simon and I spent a lot of nights in watching movies including Night At The Museum, Happy Feet and The Devil Wears Prada.

In 2008, I introduce Simon to my niece who works at a local vets. We went there with his dog Saffron, who was poorly. Jezz and I bought him a sat nav for his car, we stayed in and watched more movies and went out for lunches. I was with him when he got his new home... moving out from Sharon's in Warlingham and living in South Croydon for a while in a top floor flat of a large house. Pete, Jezz, Simon and I all went to Brighton for the day on a mad impulsive day out. Simon came with us for Jezz's birthday meal at Park Place, Mitcham along with David W, Greg, Michael D and my sister Nikki. Simon needed two new tyres for his car and I waited at his home while he was at work. Simon and I went to Paul's in New Addington for a meal cooked by Jezz and an evening soaked with wine. Jezz, David, Pete, Simon and I saw the New Year at The Reflex, Kingston for the second year running.

In 2009, Simon was with me to celebrate my 42nd birthday at The Holiday Inn, Sutton. Sister Nikki and husband Paul, David W and Lee, as well as Jezz, were there too. We all had a roast lunch. And he was with us again, along with several others, at The Happy Inn, Croydon (Chinese buffet) for Jezz's birthday.

In 2010, Jezz and I finally met Simon's partner, Andrew. They came round for a Sunday roast lunch and to celebrate my 43rd birthday.

In 2012, I went with Simon to exchange his Tigra for an Audi TT. He was with me for Jezz's pre-birthday bash too.

In 2013, Debbie and Simon came round and were with us for the day. Sadly in October, Simon's Nan passed away and then in December Saffron, his dog died.

In 2015, Simon moved to South Wales with his partner, Andrew. They moved in to their new home at the beginning of 2016.

Since Simon moved away to Wales, we have kept in touch by phone, texting and FaceTime. I love him very dearly.
